Make Platform Work work for everyone

At Just Eat Takeaway.com, we envision a future in which every courier benefits from flexibility over when, where and how they work; transparent and timely earnings with meaningful protections and benefits; and an excellent courier experience powered by our technology, AI and first-class support.

We believe flexibility is only meaningful when paired with the right protections and benefits. Couriers should have the autonomy to work on their own terms, with full visibility into what they earn and how it is calculated. They also deserve a platform built around their needs: from an intuitive, reliable app to AI tools that help them optimise their earnings and work safely, backed by first-class support.

What makes our position unique is our operational experience: we are the only major platform in Europe to have operated across a wide range of working arrangements, simultaneously and at scale, in multiple countries. That gives us a grounded, honest perspective on what works, what doesn't, and what the industry needs to move forward — and is the foundation of an approach that is sustainable for couriers, partners, customers and our business.

We are setting an ambitious vision for platform work towards three pillars. This vision is the compass for how we build our products, how we show up for the people who make our platform run and how we engage with all our stakeholders. What's right for each market will depend on local regulation, courier preferences and the operational context.

What we are building toward. Our three pillars for Platform Work

Earnings & Benefits

Transparent and timely earnings, combined with essential protections and a courier benefits programme that’s currently being developed.

Flexibility

Couriers have autonomy and control over when, where and how they work.

Experience

Best-in-class support and AI features that optimise earnings, experience and safety.

This page sets out our vision and direction of travel. Some of what you read is already live across our countries; other elements are in active development. We're sharing where we're heading, not claiming we've arrived.
